簡　介：

Professor Lo Yuet Keung (YK Lo) (National University of Singapore) will present and lead discussion about an essay by Zheng Xianzhi 郑鲜之 (zi Daozi 道子, 364-427) titled ‘Shen bu mie lun’ 神不灭论 (On the inextinguishability of spirit). Zheng wanted to argue that a person's shen (loosely translated as ‘spirit’) cannot be extinguished and survives his physical death.  Professor Lo will provide a working translation at the session.  One copy of the text is provided below.  A pdf version, with annotated Japanese translation is also available by clicking here.
